Why is Prostitution Illegal?
Known as the oldest profession in the world, prostitution has had a negative reputation since Eve gave Adam a hummer in exchange for a fig leaf.
It seems the woman is always to blame.
The nature of ill will towards any person wishing to trade sex for money truly comes from a perverse male dominated society that has created an environment where men wish their women to be nuns in public but whores in the bedroom. God forbid that a girl actually express an interest in sex let alone take initiative to get off.
During the late 1800’s men who posed as “doctors” would prescribe manual stimulation of a women’s vagina as a way to treat depression and supposed emotional disorders. These treatments became known as a cure for Hysteria, referring to the women’s hymen as the cause for most of her woes and the source of her recovery.
They got one thing correct, if these tight assed husbands and suitors would have actually taken the time to find out what a woman wanted, how to give it to her and treat them as equals with respect and dignity, our world would have been a better place.
But then men wouldn’t be so much in control and that would never do.
Hence the need for men to keep women down by any means required;
- Don’t allow women the vote because once they do, they can change how things are done.
- Don’t give them the right to own property or have a credit card or bank account solely in their name. These things will only lead to independence and that again will mean the man won’t in control.
Prostitution came out of the need for a women to earn her own money and since she wasn’t allowed to start a business or control her own purse should she be able to get a job, then she needed to work in the shadows and undercover, so to speak.
Men, always looking for sex, found an instant love for this kind of relationship.
Have sex without commitment. What could be better?
Pay with cash to leave no tracks and never have to worry about the women turning against them because after all, who would believe a “whore”? This was the lowest of low professions and one that men took great care in keeping it that way.
The only time a man is truly outraged but prostitution is when their wives or partners would show disfavor with it and then they could act all high and mighty while slipping away at the first chance for a quick one.
Today things are only slightly different. Women have the vote, can start a business, have a job and can actually take care of themselves in more ways than one without the need of a male counterpart. And yet the fight for true equality continues to crawl forward.
There is only one state in the US that allows for legal sex for money transactions – Nevada. And even within this state there is a constant battle from the so-called religious sector that has denounced and fought to rescind legal prostitution. These bible thumping hypocrites have no problem claiming superiority over women trying to just make a living yet all the while within their own churches they cheat, lie, fornicate and break every commandment on the tablets so much so that Jesus himself has yet to come back because, well, why would he to that cesspool?
To be clear; Prostitution, well regulated and managed is a business with little criminal or moral issues unto itself. In Nevada the various brothels have a thriving, fun business where people come to enjoy themselves, the employees make very good money and everyone goes home happy, especially the State which benefits from thousands of tax dollar paid by these legit sex companies.
In Amsterdam, where sex isn’t treated like some sinister taboo but celebrated as the joyous occasion it should be, the government has the system down.
The entire Red Light district isn’t just a dark, dank alley where men in trench coats sneak in for a hookup. The neighborhood is internationally celebrated for its cascade of neon lights that beckon tourist from all over the world to come see the girls in their illuminated window boxes, step into a fantasy of their choosing and all provided in a safe and fun atmosphere that only elicits joy.
The rest of this uptight planet could learn a lesson from these places. Consensual adults making mutually satisfying agreements to exchange pleasure is truly a grown-up thing to do. Its high time people stop looking down their nose at others and mind their own business.
Maybe if they tried it they may actually like it. Oh heaven forbid that could happen.
